We are a slipshod collective of marble designers who, after discovering a dictionary, decided to put our puny thumbs into the vast parking lot of modern letters.  We seek innovative work, both in poetry and prose, work that quivers nervously for attention, work that teethes endlessly on doorknobs.  We could toss out a laundry list of writers we like—from Spicer to Borges, or O'Connor to O'Hara—but it would only leave you confused.  The best way to understand our editorial preferences is to read the journal.  alice blue is published quarterly from somewhere between Seattle and Phoenix.

poetry

Please send 2-5 poems as a single .doc (word) or .rtf attachment, along with a short introduction, to alicebluepoetry@hotmail.com.  The subject line of your email should adhere to the following format so we don't think it is a malevolent virus bent on literary destruction:  yourname/aliceblue/poetry.  For example, if your name is Will Shatner, then your subject line should read: Shatner/aliceblue/poetry.

prose

Please send prose of any length as a single .doc (word) or .rtf attachment to aliceblueprose@hotmail.com (using the above format for the subject line, replacing the word poetry with prose).  Include a short introduction if you like.  Keep in mind that, at present, alice blue is a web publication and, as such, seeks web friendly prose, which often means short, perhaps in that 50 to 2000 word range.  But exceptions will be made, many of them, for genius?
